Now known as Red Lion Square, Hythe, Kent
A busy day in Market Square. A bus is on its way, and a charabanc is loading up on the left. Over on the right is the S.E.R. Folkestone, Hythe & Sandgate Tramways building, known as the Tram Terminus, with a tram loading up in front of it. These trams were affectionately known as 'The Toast Rack', as they resembled the racks that would sit upon the breakfast table holding slices of toast (which had probably been cooked at the end of a toasting fork over a fire). This building, although altered, is still there today, along with the company sign.
